Hi everyone,

My name is Shayla Graves I'm 27 years old and a mother of four wonderful children three girls and one boy.  I simply love children, working with children has been my passion since I was a teenager and that passion has lead me to my current career.  I am currently a 4k teacher at a local daycare center and I absolutely love my job, I have been here for the past ten years and this is my first year teaching 4k.  I have a associates degree in early childhood and currently seeking my bachelor degree.  I adore the thought of being a positive influence on young children working in a small town and at the same center for so long you play a major role in children's lives and it's a wonderful feeling.  I have been blessed to see children start daycare from being an infant and grow into a new stage of young adulthood being apart of that journey has been extremely rewarding. As a childcare provider it's important to build relationships and trust at a young age with children. My main focus everyday is to provide a safe, joyful and nutritious environment for children to learn in. Children spend majority of their day at school and we provide meals and snacks to ensure healthy choices too help promote proper development.  It's also our job to ensure the safety of the child at all times.  We our here to serve the whole child and give them the best at all times.

  1. Hi Shayla,
I know exactly what you mean when you speak of watching the kids grow. I worked at the YMCA in California for about seven years and it was a joy watching the kids I worked with turn into responsible young adults. I loved to see that sparkle in their eyes when something finally clicked for them.
